Cancún runs on the all-inclusive model, and "all-inclusive" means more here than at most beach destinations. But the phrase does a lot of quiet work, and the gap between what people assume is covered and what actually is can shape a whole trip. Here's the honest version.

What's genuinely included at a Dreams-style all-inclusive

At the Dreams resorts we work with, one price covers the core of the vacation:

• Your room — a full beachfront resort room, not a stripped "resort-view" category.
• Every meal, à la carte and cooked to order. This is the part first-timers underestimate: the better Cancún all-inclusives have moved past buffet lines to sit-down restaurants, multiple cuisines, no reservations required. • Unlimited drinks, including top-shelf spirits, plus coffee, dessert, and a pastry shop.
• Pool and beach wait service — drinks and food brought to your lounger.
• Live evening entertainment, theme nights, and the oceanfront venues.
• The resort's full daytime activity program — pool activities, fitness, kids' programming where offered.
• Tips and taxes at the resort. At the Dreams resorts featured by My True Holiday, gratuities and taxes are included, so you're not signing checks or tipping for every drink or meal.

What's quietly not included

This is where the honest guides part ways with the brochures. Sitting outside the all-inclusive at nearly every Cancún resort:

• Airfare to Cancún. Almost never part of a resort's all-inclusive rate.
• The spa. Spa treatments aren't included. Hydrotherapy or thermal circuit access may also be an additional charge, depending on the resort.
• Motorized water sports — jet skis, parasailing, powered gear. Non-motorized (kayaks, paddleboards, snorkel gear) is often included; the motors cost extra.
• Golf greens fees.
• Guided off-site tours and excursions — Chichén Itzá, cenote trips, Isla Mujeres day trips. These are booked and paid separately.

The transfer question most people miss

Here's the one that catches travelers off guard: airport transfers are frequently not part of an all-inclusive rate. You land, and getting from Cancún International Airport to your resort is a separate cost you arrange yourself — taxi, shuttle, or a pre-booked private transfer. So what does "one price" actually buy on our packages?

Our Cancún package is $699 for two, three all-inclusive nights ($233 a night) and it folds two things into that price that the resort's own rate usually leaves out: private round-trip airport transfers and travel assistance during your trip (a medical help line, emergency support, repatriation cover).
